Over the last five weeks, we have been walking through The Invitation of Jesus. Each message revealed a new way Jesus invites us to experience His presence, purpose, and eternal promise. These are not just stories. They are personal invitations to every believer.
COME AND SEE
From John 1, we saw Jesus’ first invitation: Come and see. It began with curiosity and ended with transformation. The disciples encountered Jesus, stayed with Him, and realized He was the Messiah. We learned that Jesus invites us to come and experience, to think, to process with friends, and to wonder at who He is. Each step draws us deeper into a relationship with Him.
FOLLOW ME
Jesus’ call to Follow Me is an invitation to discipleship. We discovered that following Him requires denying ourselves, taking up our cross daily, and living with new priorities, a new identity, and new mercies. To follow Jesus is to learn His ways, imitate His heart, and reorder our lives around His kingdom.
GO FISH
From Matthew 4, Jesus told His followers, I will make you fishers of men. We learned that the mission is not optional. We are called to commit to fishing, cast our nets, repair them when needed, and cast again. Evangelism is about persistence, not perfection. Every believer is invited to be part of gathering others into God’s kingdom.
COME AND REST
Jesus said, Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. We were reminded that rest is not the absence of activity but the presence of peace found in Him. We learned to be honest about our limitations, to fight to live in our true identity, and to prioritize time with the One who restores our souls.
COME AND INHERIT
The final invitation from Matthew 25 points us to eternity: Come, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you. We saw that believers have an inheritance that is imperishable and eternal. Though life brings trials, God is shaping us for glory. We were encouraged not to give up but to fix our eyes on what is unseen, knowing that our future in Christ is secure.
LOOKING AHEAD
This Sunday, November 9, we begin a brand new series called ’Tis the Season. Join us as we open our hearts to what the Lord has for us in this season.
FOOD DRIVE CONTINUES
We have seen an amazing outpouring of generosity from our church family. We will continue collecting non-perishable items through November 26, or longer, depending on the longevity of the governmental shutdown. Let’s continue to come alongside our community and show them the love of Jesus in practical ways.
Thank you, Graceway, for being a church that continually responds to the invitations of Jesus. I can’t wait to see you this Sunday.
