UNSTOPPABLE: Faith that Shakes the Earth (16:11-40)

    Sunday June 14th, 2026
    NOTES

    GROUP REFLECTION
    • Which person in Philippi do you most identify with right now—Lydia, the slave girl, or the jailer?
      • Are you relying on your own competence and religious activity like Lydia, trapped in a form of bondage like the slave girl, or carrying hidden fear, despair, or hopelessness like the jailer? How might Jesus be meeting you at your deepest point of need today?
    • How do you typically respond when suffering, disappointment, or injustice enters your life?
      • Paul and Silas chose worship in the midst of pain and uncertainty. If the people closest to you were watching your response to hardship, what would they learn about your trust in God? What would it look like to choose worship over resentment, fear, or self-pity this week?
    • Where might the gospel be confronting not only your personal sin but also the systems and patterns you participate in or benefit from?
      • Are there areas where convenience, comfort, profit, or cultural norms have dulled your sensitivity to injustice or the exploitation of others? How might God be calling you to bring the values of His kingdom into your workplace, relationships, finances, or community?
    • What "earthquake" of surrender might God be inviting you into right now?
      • The gospel transformed Lydia's self-sufficiency into dependence, the slave girl's bondage into freedom, and the jailer's despair into hope. What part of your life needs to be shaken so that Christ can bring deeper faith, freedom, and obedience?

Acts 16 reminds us that the gospel is not merely information to believe; it is a power that changes people, disrupts broken systems, creates impossible communities, and turns worshipers into witnesses. Where is God inviting you not just to admire this story, but to live it?
